Fathers Day PC Membership

Still trying to figure out what to get Dad for Father’s Day this year?

If he is interested in vehicles, lawn and garden equipment, powersports like motorcycles, ATV’s, dirt bikes, boats or other motorized equipment he may appreciate an AMSOIL Preferred Customer membership as a gift this year.

Simply add either the 1 year membership ($30 CAD) or the 6 month trial membership ($15 CAD) and checkout from the online store. When you create a new user account use your Dad’s personal information – but not his email address. Use your own, he’ll be able to change the email address later so you don’t ruin the surprise.

For those who wait until the last minute you can sign up through the AMSOIL online store right up until the very last second. You can also order a membership over the phone during business hours on week days at 1-800-777-7094. Renewing a membership is best done over the phone.

Don’t forget to print a copy of the confirmation to put in with his Father’s day card on Sunday.
If you need help creating an account contact me.

Price Adjustments

Two announcements that will affect the pricing of AMSOIL products have come out recently.

  1. The Eco fees for all lubricating oils (except 2-cycle oils) and fuel additives in the province of Ontario will increase. They have almost doubled going from a nickle per quart to $0.09/quart. AMSOIL does not set the Eco fee pricing but is required to collect it for “Stewardship Ontario” on behalf of the province of Ontario.

See the chart below for the updated pricing based on the size of container.

  2. The second announcement is a minimal price increase on July 1st, 2012 due to the rising cost of raw material costs for the following products: Continue reading Price Adjustments

New Canadian Freight and Handling Rates Effective January 2, 2012

AMSOIL is implementing new Canadian freight and handling rates effective January 2, 2012. While rates have increased slightly for some provinces they have decreased for others and overall, enhance convenience for Dealers, Preferred Customers and accounts.

The old rates depicted estimated freight and handling costs only, meaning the actual cost is unknown until orders are shipped. This prevents Dealers from giving accurate quotes and sometimes causes price discrepancies for accounts and customers. The new rates depict actual freight and handling costs, allowing Dealers and customers to know the exact freight and handling charge prior to placing the order. Shipments to a small minority of outlying areas remain subject to additional interline fees.

The listing of Canadian Freight and Handling Rates is available on the AMSOIL website.

Vacation

I’m going on vacation to Europe for 3 weeks. Really looking forward to getting away this fall.
We’re stopping off in Munich, Germany to see Oktoberfest first hand and then making our way on to Italy for 2.5 weeks to do a bit of hiking and lots of eating!

The last day to place an order for in-person pickup is Tuesday September 13. I’ll be back October 10th and will start taking personal orders again.

If you spend more than $100/year on AMSOIL products you should experiment with adding a Preferred Customer membership to your cart once you’ve added your products. The online application automatically discounts the products with a PC membership in the cart and if you remove it the pricing goes back to suggested retail.

An Update On Pricing

AMSOIL released this bit of information stating they are not planning another price increase as of yet.

AMSOIL Holds the Line on Price Increase

While the price of crude oil has dropped recently, the costs of lubricant base stocks, additives and other raw materials continue to rise. Most lubricant manufacturers are set to implement their fourth or fifth price increase since early February, with these increases expected to slowly work their way into the retail marketplace over the next several months. While AMSOIL has also been affected with increasing costs of raw materials, the company is holding the line on implementing another price increase. AMSOIL has limited its price increases to just three since February, while also limiting the percentage increases to approximately half of the percentage increases implemented by competing manufacturers.

AMSOIL synthetic lubricants are the best and most cost-effective choice on the market, saving customers money through extended drain intervals, reduced wear and maintenance and increased fuel efficiency. Customers save even more by registering as Preferred Customers, while the OE Synthetic Motor Oil line provides customers with the enhanced protection and performance properties of a synthetic at a competitive, lower initial price.

Signature Series Showcased in Magazine Ads

AMSOIL has showcased its Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil line in two national print magazines Car & Driver and Popular Mechanics.

As an AMSOIL independent dealer I’m looking forward to working with people who have read the ads and are interested in more information about AMSOIL products and business opportunities. Feel free to reach out and contact me directly for more information or though the AMSOIL online store.

AMSOIL has a wealth of excellent products above and beyond automotive applications. Motorcycles, ATV’s, watercraft and all kinds of outdoor power equipment just to name a few.

AMSOIL Expands Motor Oil Offerings

Good news for both lube shops and those with newer Ford, Toyota or Honda’s. AMSOIL has brought on board offerings for 0W-20 oils with the standard pricing for each respective line. OEZ should do quite well in the OE line of oils as your best value to maintain your new car warranty.

If your vehicle takes a 0W-20 oil you don’t have the opportunity to use a basic mineral oil. You’ll have to purchase at least a blended or semi-synthetic oil to get down to the 0 weight at start-up. Some car manufacturers allow a 5W-20 to be used but suggest going back to a 0W-20 as soon as possible.

I’d suggest stepping up to a quality synthetic oil like AMSOIL. Here is what the press release had to say about the new offerings:

With the continuing trend toward lighter viscosity motor oils, AMSOIL has expanded the Signature Series, XL and OE lines. The Signature Series line now includes a 5W-20 oil (ALM), while the XL and OE lines now each include a 0W-20 oil (XLZ, OEZ). Like the other oils in their respective lines, each new oil is formulated to provide outstanding protection and performance and meet the latest API SN/ILSAC GF-5 specifications. XL and OE 0W-20 are API licensed.

Mobil 1 On Sale @ Canadian Tire This Week

Mobil 1 SuperSyn and Extended Performance are on sale this week at my local Canadian Tire. Sale prices are $35.99 (Reg $47.99) for SuperSyn or $41.99 (Reg $55.99) for the EP – both in 4.4L jugs. AMSOIL pricing is easily competitive and the products are even better.

The best part about AMSOIL is the fact you don’t have to wait for a sale, then go to the store only to find out the 7 bottles they had in stock sold out on the first morning of the sale. This used to happen to me. AMSOIL is available to you with 2 days notice any time you need it – no need to stockpile oil or filters.

I’d put the AMSOIL XL line of oils against the Mobil 1 SuperSyn and the Signature Series with the Extended Performance. They don’t quite match up “apples to apples”, but they are close.

Before you spend $36 on 4.4L of SuperSyn ask me how you can get AMSOIL Extended Life (XL) oil for around $33 – any time you need it.
